Established on December 22, 1980. A duly licensed manning agency in the Philippines registered with the Securities Exchange and Commission (SEC) and authorized by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), to hire Filipino seaman for overseas employment and do other related shipping business. Right now,it is engaged in providing Seafarers to 62 Japanese Vessels for more than 31 years.
Is a sistership company of Orophil Shipping International Co. Inc. Was established on March 26,2010, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and authorized by the Maritime Industries Authority (MARINA), under DSO 186-09 (2010) to do business in Ship management and DSO -2006-003-016 (2010) in Domestic Shipping Business. The Company is also a maintaining it’s PTO (Permit To Operate) to the Philippine Ports Authority as a Shipping Agent. In order to engage in the recruitment of domestic seafarers acquired an accreditation to the Department of Labor and Employment number Department Order no. 18-02 Series of 2002.
It is engaged in providing Ship Managerial Expertise to the Philippine and Italian Vessels.
It was founded by former Ambassador Roberto S. Benedicto in 1974, the only school in the Visayas with its own shipping company and eventually became one of the TOP 10 MARITIME SCHOOLS in the country. Its program offering was limited to Associate in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering. The Academy temporarily ceased operations in 1985-86 and re-opened in 1987 under the management of Asian Mari-Tech Development Corporation (AMTDC).
Since then, the Board of Trustees has endeavored to meet the IMO standards through the requirements imposed by the Commission of Higher Education (CHED) for the school and the Maritime Training Council (MTC) and the Maritime Industry Authority for the training center.
It is a school with TESDA accredited training center for Caregivers.
Established as a sending organization by way of involvement during the TESDA-JITCO Technical Internship Training Program. Under this project, it handles the training function in the pre-deployment of Technical Interns to the different accepting organizations in Japan.
